III Encuentro Iberoamericano: Nuevos Paradigmas en la Juventud Coreana

La Universidad de Málaga se complace en anunciar la aceptación de abstracts para la participación en el “III Encuentro Iberoamericano de Estudios Coreanos: Nuevos Paradigmas en la Juventud Coreana" y que se celebrará del día 28 al 29 de Marzo de 2019.

La globalización e internacionalización han dejado un fuerte impacto en la sociedad coreana. A pesar de ser procesos con una larga historia, se han articulado bajo dichos términos parte del discurso político reciente de Corea del Sur. La presente conferencia quiere considerar los efectos que la globalización y la internacionalización han tenido en la nueva articulación de la educación y las identidades culturales entre los jóvenes coreanos, a la vez que analiza también las estrategias de localización que las han hecho posibles. Específicamente, quiere considerar los efectos de la movilidad transnacional en la articulación y rearticulación de identidades colectivas y culturales entre los jóvenes coreanos.

Son bienvenidos los abstracts que traten temas relacionados con la configuración y transformación de la identidad juvenil coreana, especialmente en el contexto de la movilidad transnacional. Algunos de los temas bienvenidos para la conferencia, pero no limitados son:

• La internacionalización de la universidad

• La movilidad transnacional de estudiantes

• Productos culturales en ambientes transnacionales

• Nuevas identidades colectivas desde una perspectiva transnacional

• Migración e identidad

• Género en contexto transnacional

La organización proporcionará dos noches a los participantes procedentes de instituciones europeas y tres noches a los participantes provenientes de instituciones fuera de Europa.

Durante la conferencia, la organización proporcionará 2 comidas y 2 cenas a todos los participantes en la conferencia.

Se aceptarán abstracts hasta el 19 de diciembre de 2018 y se dará una respuesta sobre la aceptación o rechazo de dicho abstract el día 14 de Enero de 2019.

Todos los participantes aceptados tendrán 30 minutos para presentar su ponencia (20 minutos de presentación y 10 minutos de preguntas y respuestas) y deberán entregar una copia redactada de su ponencia completa (5-7 páginas, 5.500-7.000 palabras con bibliografía y notas a pie de página) para el 11 de marzo de 2019 como fecha límite.

Solicitud y entrega del Abstract

La Conferencia aceptará solicitudes y ponencias tanto en inglés como en español.

Todos los participantes recibirán un acuse de recibo tan pronto como recibamos su formulario. Si no recibiese dicha confirmación en cinco días tras el envío, por favor envíela de nuevo.

Periodo de Solicitud

El periodo de solicitud termina el 19 de Diciembre de 2018.

La organización contactará a todos los solicitantes el día 14 de Enero de 2019 con una respuesta sobre la solicitud.

Cancelación de su participación

La organización pediría que los solicitantes estuviesen efectivamente interesados en participar efectivamente en Málaga en la conferencia. Tengan en cuenta que los solicitantes que sean confirmados para participar y luego cancelen dicha participación estarían detrayendo recursos a otros potenciales candidatos con la consecuente malgasto de recursos.

III Iberoamerican Meeting on Korean Studies: Emerging trends amongst youth in Korea

The University of Malaga is pleased to invite proposal for presentations to be delivered at the "III Iberoamerican Meeting on Korean Studies: Emerging trends amongst youth in Korea", 28-29th March 2019.

Globalization and internationalization have had a strong impact on Korean society. Despite being processes with long histories, they were articulated under those terms and became part of the political and social discourse in South Korea quite recently. The present conference aims to consider the effects of globalization and internationalization in the new articulations of education and cultural identities, as well as the strategies of localization that have mediated such processes. In particular aims to consider the effects of transnational mobility in the articulation and rearticulation of collective identities and cultures among young Koreans.

The conference will examine the configuration and transformation of youth culture in Korea from a broad disciplinary perspective. In particular, the conference is interested in analyzing the effects of transnational mobility in contexts such as those of education mobility, and their effects on the configuration and reconfiguration of Korean youth culture and their collective identity.

Proposals are welcome for papers on all aspects dealing with the configuration and transformation of Korean youth identity, especially in the context of transnational mobility. Possible topics upon submissions are welcome include, but not limited:

• Internationalization of universities

• Transnational mobility of students

• Cultural products in transnational environments

• New collective identities in transnational perspectives

• Migration and identity

• Gender in transnational contexts

The organization will provide accommodation for scholars in Europe, and accommodation for scholars outside Europe 3 nights.

Presentations and Papers

Prospective participants should submit a proposal including an abstract of three hundred (300) words and a curriculum vitae and to uma.corea.congress@gmail.com. Proposals are due by Dec. 19, 2018, and accepted abstracts will be notified by Jan. 14, 2019.

All successful applicants will be expected to give a 30 minute presentation (20 minutes presentation + 10 minutes Q&A) and will have to submit their full paper (5-7 pages, 5,500–7,000 words including bibliography and footnotes) by Mach 11, 2019.
